During the European Heritage Day in the Netherlands on Saturday the 9th of september and Sunday the 10th of september thousands of historical buildings and sites are open to the public free of charge. You can visit the museumboat Hendrina Johanna
Acces quay opposite Bierkade 18B. Not accesible for disabled people. The Hendrina Johanna from 1905 is anchored in the Bierkade port. This ship is also called a Wagenbrug- ger (named after the bridge) or Haagvaarder type (named after the city). Its dimensions were dictated by the Wagenbrug, a narrow bridge. It transported the bricks for many 19th century neighbourhoods. The Hendrina Johanna is a good illustration of a particular period of sailing freight transport.
